PSI Terms & Conditions

All of the membership rules contained herein apply equally to members, temporary members and guests alike.

1. Membership

Memberships are personal and non-refundable.
A registration fee of R450.00 (once off) is applicable before membership commence. PSI is a private members facility and the management reserve the right to refuse membership to any individual without cause.
Membership may be renewed on payment of the prevailing fee and in accordance with the terms and conditions then in force. By joining PSI, members automatically accept and agree to be bound by the policies & conditions of membership (Please note: that you hereby accept and bind yourself to the full contract period).
All members are subject to identifying themselves on entering the facility premises. Entry will only be permitted to those with a valid paid up membership, in date. If you have an outstanding amount to be paid on your account, you won’t be able to enter the building and partake in the programs.
As a member you agree to comply with the rules of PSI with regards to use of the facility and the opening hours.

You must, at your own discretion and expense, obtain personal insurance for loss, injury or damage that you might sustain arising from use of the facility, equipment, or partaking in any program. You exercise at your own discretion and accept liability for any injury or illness brought on by exercise. Members wishing to report on accidents, incidents, or problems with services should contact the on duty manager. Reports and complaints are dealt with in confidence for your benefit. The right of admission to the premises are reserved and you may be required to leave the premises in case of breach of the rules or conducting yourself in an inappropriate manner.
Minors joining as members and partaking in our programmes are the full responsibility of their parents or guardians and we do not accept any responsibility for the safety or health condition of any minor.

2. Term of membership & Monthly Payments

Membership fees are payable in advance and must be paid on or before the 7th day of each month. Members are required to agree to the normal terms and conditions of payment. The signing of a Debit order is optimal for convience. In the event of the failure to pay the monthly membership fee, PSI reserves the right to cancel membership. Access to the facility will be denied until said payment is received and if payment is not received, and cancellation occurs, the registration fee becomes applicable again on re-joining.
If your membership fee is not paid up to date you will be notified that your membership has been temporarily stopped until payments are brought up to date.Breach of the provisions of payment will result in your default being reported to the credit bureaux having an adverse effect on your credit score and profile.

3. Use of the facilities

  1. Membership is non-transferable. If your membership card is used by anyone else with your knowledge or consent then we reserve the right to suspend and/or cancel your membership.
  2. On joining, all members are offered an induction to instruct you on the use of the equipment. We strongly recommend that this is undertaken. If you are subsequently unsure how to use any equipment, please ask a member of the team.
  3. You may not use the gym or participate in a class when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any medication that may affect your safety.
  4. Only our personal accredited trainers are permitted to train members in our facility.

4. Lockers

Lockers are provided for the use of members and their guests.
Lockers may not be used overnight. Members who do so are liable to find that the lockers are opened, and locker contents removed.
Any property stored in lockers is stored at your own risk. Removal of such items is strictly at the members own risk. In the interest of safety and security please use the lockers provided.
We regret that we cannot accept liability for any loss or damage that may occur to items brought onto the premises by you.

5. Opening Hours

The facility reserves the right to vary the operating hours as considered necessary for the proper operation of the centre.

6. Guests

Guests of members who use the facility can only do so by prior arrangement with management, quests will be bound by the same policies, rules and conditions as members.

7. Safety & Hygiene

Throughout the course of your membership, regular health and medical screening should be sought from your General Practitioner.
Before using the fitness facilities, you should go through a basic introductory session with one of our fitness personnel, followed by further sessions (if necessary) to ensure that you understand the programme and equipment and adopt a safe training regime that suits your needs. The booking of this is your responsibility.
It is necessary that all members and guests of the facility wear appropriate, clean attire and foot wear when using the facilities.
If you feel dizzy, faint, and unwell or feel any unusual pain while exercising you should stop exercising and inform a member of staff immediately. You may not use the facility or participate in a class when under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any medication that may affect your safety.
Members cannot train in the facility without a hand towel. Equipment must be treated with respect. Please refrain from dropping weights, weights be replaced after use.
Machines and equipment must be wiped down after use, left clean and dry and replaced in the correct area.

8. Disclaimer of Liability for legal declarations

If any provisions of these terms and conditions are found to be unlawful, outdated, then to the extent which that term is, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining terms shall survive, remain in full force and effect.
These terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
